Does Your Business Have the Heart of A Champion?

You may even ask, does my business need the “heart of a champion”? Maybe, but you can find a comfortable level for your business that provides you with all you need and that’s enough for you. Well, if enough is what you want, don’t read any further. This article is for those who want more.

What do you need to be a champion? Only one thing my friend: PASSION!

When you wake up in the morning, do you think about your business, how it can add value, help people and be the best at what you do? Do you fall asleep at night wondering if tomorrow you can be better?

I recently had the pleasure of watching the US Open tennis tournament. The passion was evident on every face of the winners and losers.  The face of victory was worn openly and the passion came through in every hit of the ball. One of my favorites, Roger Federer, was asked, “The wind didn’t seem to slow you down. Your serve was still on. What do you do different?”. Roger, in true champion form answered, “You can wake me up at 2:00 am and I will hit serves, wind or no wind. It’s what we do!”.

So, if someone asked you what you do and if the conditions were bothering you, what would you say?  Would you talk about the bad economy or about how one of your key workers got stolen by another company? Or would you say it doesn’t matter because you show up every day with passion to succeed and grow your business? If your answer is different than Roger Federer’s “It’s what we do”, then choose a different business or find a different way to do it, one that will bring your passion back. Your very life depends upon it.

The heart of a champion knows that they are doing what they should be doing. Yes, there is room for doubt to come in but when you show up ready to work, all doubt goes out the window and your champion heart shows up again. As a consultant, I get to see many business owners, CEO’s and entrepreneurs who are stuck. What they all need is PASSION!

Find your passion today! It’s there…underneath all the circumstances that have happened to you over the last while.  Trust me, take a chance on you and find your passion, AGAIN! Your business will thank you. Need help? Look to your team….not just your accountant, lawyer or financial planner. Don’t forget your family, friends and employees.  Keep looking until you find it.

On your team,

Mark Kennedy
